Présentation (English below)

 

Ma carrière s'est essentiellement déroulée en Afrique saharo-sahélienne depuis  le début des années soixante-dix, notamment en Algérie puis au Niger, au Mali et à un degré moindre au Tchad. (Expertise en anthropologie du développement). Dans le cadre d'une approche comparative, elle a porté sur les sociétés nomades touarègues (Algérie, Niger et Mali) arabes  et touboues (Tchad).

Depuis l'an 2000 j'ai élargi mes domaines de recherche aux éleveurs bouriates de Sibérie (Okrug d'Aguinskoê, Oblast de Tchita) et aux agro-transhumants kirghizes de l'Oblast de Naryn autour du lac Song Kol au Kirghizstan.

Toutes ces études relèvent de l'anthropologie politique du nomadisme dans une approche écosystémique qui prend en compte les aspects zootechniques et agrostologiques acquis à la faveur de collaborations scientifiques régulières avec les pastoralistes du CIRAD (Centre International de Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement.) Ces collaborations soulignent la dimension pluridisciplinaire et comparative de mes recherches fondées sur une démarche historique.

• Depuis l'année 2004 j'ai initié une chaire d'anthropologie sociale à l'Université d'État Arabaev (Bichkek; Kirghizstan) actuellment en cours de transfert à l'Académie des sciences du Kirghizstan.

ENGLISH

My career has essentially been situated in Saharo-Sahelian Africa since the beginning of the 1970s, primarily in Algeria and then subsequently in Niger, Mali, and to a lesser extent Chad. I have specialized in the anthropology of development. Within a comparative approach, my work has focused on nomadic Tuareg (Algeria, Niger, and Mali), Arab, and Toubou (Chad) societies.

Since 2000, I have expanded my fields of research to Buryat livestock farmers in Siberia (the Okrug of Aguinskoê, the Oblast of Tchita) and to Kyrgyz agro-transhumants from the Oblast of Naryn around Song Kol Lake in Kyrgyzstan.

All these studies fit within the political anthropology of nomadism from an eco-systemic perspective, taking into account the zootechnical and agrostological aspects known, in order to promote regular scientific collaboration with pastoralists at the CIRAD (Centre International de Recherche Agronomique pour le Développement [French International Agricultural Research Centre for Development]). These collaborations highlight the multidisciplinary and comparative dimension of my research based on a historical approach.
